Time stands still - silence surrounds me

A kindness- a kind of hind sight

Braiding me by fusing what I thought I lacked- home improvements

Home Depot- locking into my lover’s eyes- connecting- connection-two-gether- Strengthened –

Creating powerful bond-

Only to discover that the (She’s) were imposters-none were what the packaged promised

Many mislabeled, broken and missing pieces- now two-gether has a different meaning

(She’s) weren’t real- (she’s) were dimming me-  symbols of my idol worship-evidenced by

Gifts given, finger food feeding, delectables, grapes, berries and Jewelry given – in vain

The change – the changes were not in idols but in self-reflection- unearthing the God- the resurrection

In His image- baring His likeness- becoming what I am – what I was born to be- young Bourneforit-

I can believe I can achieve….

Wasted time searching for what I was too lazy to be but all is well- every experience lends a strength- a certain synergy….

To the branch for I am the tree, planted by many waters, flowing from me many streams.

I Learned idols can’t provide fulfillment- they just compel you to keep seeking- peeking and reaching-

inching with only temporary satisfaction – for in the details of statues - another man’s creation are Not the details you were supposed to find your reflection in-

For while you may be attracted to it but you don’t know the details that produced this— the pain that

Hewn it or the needle of dope in the vain that Imagined it or the level of intoxication, brokenness,

Reckless abandonment that sketched the crevasse

Or the spoken words expressed at the nexus- what consultation is the true bearer of this reflection you

Connect with- have breakfast- or you could find yourself in worse shape- developing an appetite for

Shaving and cutting-in lust with the blade-  feel me? Then let the circumcision begin

A holy hand - performing the surgical necessity- purging the perjury- the lies that (mis)labeled you and 

Gave birth to an Ego – a very fragile thing that manipulates and deceives- espouses emotionally then

Quickly abandons you- Yeah I got a big one- shit I used to pray to him- now, I’m finally accepting he’s not

Love- he's not a true friend- So, I have to reign and rule over him -  like a venomous snake- charm him….

Hands raised- surrender to the ascension- there is power in forgiveness, faith, hope, Love, praise- Thanks giving; generosity, kindness, humility…

Abortion of the lie child - Pregnant with the Love child

Found the mirror of Gd- in His eyes my own reflection- in His eyes

Sitting in silence- my soul child, quiet…  beside a shattered still image-now walks a rendering of redemption’s child…  reborn – eyes open – other than- raised from the dead- no longer baring the - Weakness of separation- no longer lost in space- lost in intellect- reconnected- unified… One again

Why Miley Cyrus? (Title)

By now even the super conservative has seen and weighed in on Miley Cyrus and the VMA performance. A tongue dangling, large finger stroking and hip gyrating spectacle accompanied by big human stuffed Teddy bears and Robin Thick!

It’s the VMA’s! It’s popular music, it’s popular culture, it is what your children are doing in the gymnasiums at schools. Read the news much?  “Teens suspended for using school property to record a Twerking video that was posted on YouTube”. It is the Product of environment!

So, what is Twerking and is it new?

According to the Oxford Dictionary Online, to twerk is “to dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance”.  See Wikipedia for a full concert of its history and songs it can be found in and musically harmonized.

Is twerking a new form of dance that we should now be super concerned about- No!

Twerking is as old as Madonna and Dirty Dancing- I think that was a movie? Yup, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey starred in it.

So why is the world so upset with Miley Cyrus? Why are so many people troubled and concerned with her choice to be provocative, albeit, not her finest moment … but certainly not an original concept? And why was the audience dampened with disappointment? Let’s think out loud, shall we.  We live in a time of shock value TV and Social media. Literally, everyday someone loads amateur sex on YouTube, fights are uploaded, a man showed his murdered wife on Face Book, the News shows us children’s corpses after bombings and we are treating Miley’s performance as an atrocity! The audience was shocked! Jaws dropped open, some shaking their heads, the Smith’s in disbelief…..Wake up America!

What’s really going on? Thirteen years ago Madonna shot Justify My love, Ten years ago she Kissed Britney and Christina, Prince in ass-less pants,  Kanye stills Taylor Swifts big moment, Gaga  all but performed a human sacrifice on stage and the list goes on.

How big is Twerking and popular culture? Ray Donovan the HBO series even references and play it out- yes, Jon Voight has a line about twerking. Hilarious!

So, why is Miley getting all this negative attention? One could argue it’s like drugs- in- America are okay until it hits your community and your children are impacted but I don’t think that is it alone. And honestly, that is not my point.

I want to know why Robin Thick was excluded from the barrage of news cycles.  Miley is still developing mentally- her brain is still forming but Robin is a full fledge adult. Where was the outrage with his involvement? I mean he followed her and positioned himself behind her to get what an earlier generation might call a lap-dance.

Where is the outrage with an older man in black and white stripes not side stepping this girls “jail bait” advances and not to overlook the obvious use of Molly aka MDMA but again this plays eerily close to the Janet and Justin’s Super Bowl fiasco that left Janet almost a social leper while Justin sailed off in to higher record sales.

So, My question- is Miley, Batman and is Robin- Robin?

I challenge you to be a free thinker and look beyond what you are being told to see..
